Nora Margaret Fowler Fike, age 75, has danced her last dance.In her youth, Nora lit up the New York City night scene as a Copacabana girl, a famed chorus line dancer with elegant costumes. She continued to play a role in America's epic music history during her former marriage to Lamar Fike, Godfather of Elvis's “Memphis Mafia”.Nora left the world of music entertainment behind to devote the rest of her life to her children and her nursing career, serving at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN for over 38 years as a registered nurse in cardiac services, caring for others' hearts with her own compassionate, tender one.Born June 29, 1940 in Canada, Nora died peacefully in her sleep at home in Antioch, TN, October 9, 2015.She is survived by her son: James Lamar Fike, with his wife and her daughter-in-law: Ashley Elizabeth Bonner; her son: John Lawrence Fike; daughter-in-heart: Lisa Haynes Douglas; and granddaughter-but-raised-as-daughter: Rachel Laura Anne Fike, with great-grandchildren, Damarian Tremain Waters and Madison LaShay Fike.Nora was preceded in death by her parents: Kathleen Irving Fowler and William C. Fowler; her beloved late sister: Constance "Connee" Fowler Neff, and daughter: Leslie Joan Fike.Come celebrate her last dance with us.
