Richard Koenig

Richard Ormand Koenig, age 69 of Old Hickory, TN, passed away July 20, 1018 at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage.It is not known where Richard was born, although it was possibly Texas. He served his country in Vietnam in the United States Army, entering at Ft. Hood, TX. With almost 8 years total service, Richard left the Army as a SGT and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Army Commendation Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Medal, and Purple Heart with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, as well as several other recognitions.At the time of his death he had no known family. As no soldier goes to their final place of rest alone, veterans, and those who support them, are invited to gather at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on McCrory Lane.
