Robert Nelson

February 1, 1955 — July 13, 2019

Robert Joseph "Bob" Nelson, passed away suddenly on July 11, 2019 at his home. He was born Feb 1, 1955 in Toledo, OH and moved to Nashville, TN with his family in 1967. Bob graduated from John Overton High School and went on to Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO to follow his calling to work with youth at his home church, Whispering Hills Baptist Church in Nashville. Life later led him to work with the Crisis Hotline and then to a 15 year career with Parthenon Pavilion in their Community Assistance Program. Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife: Donna Hearn Nelson; and his parents: Marjorie and Reginald Nelson. He is survived by his daughters: Nichole Murrell and Rochelle (Bryan) Nelson Sans; step-children: Mandy (Ian) Rymer and Joey McDaniel; sister: Pat (Wayne) Halper; grandchildren: Taylor, Laney, Madison, Landon, Gabriel, Braidyn, Bryce, Hudson, Charlie and Jack; and nephews: Neal and Josh. Bob was happiest with Donna, his children and grandchildren, taking photographs of his family and the things he found interesting in the world, writing, and finding connection with the God he loved. He will be missed by us and his memory will forever be a blessing. The family will celebrate Bob's life on August 3, 2019 at the Clearview Baptist Church, 537 Franklin Rd, Franklin, TN with visitation at 10:00, and the service beginning at 11:00 AM.
