Robin Lynn Melnick

Robin Lynn Melnick, affectionately known as Robby, was born on December 24, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York. Over the years, she became a beacon of light in the lives of those who were privileged to know her. With her unexpected passing on November 4, 2024, the world feels a little dimmer.

Robby was not just an amazing hairdresser; she was an artist in her field, known for her talent and for the warmth she brought into every chair she filled. As an entrepreneur, she once owned her own salon, a testament to her dedication and passion for her craft. Throughout her life, Robby had a unique ability to make people laugh, finding joy even in the darkest moments. Her close friends and family often found solace in her humor, as she regularly sent funny videos and test messages to them, brightening their days. She was known for her beauty. All her life, she captured hearts with her open heart and gorgeous looks, notably her vibrant emerald-green eyes.

A free spirit with a rebellious streak, Robby had a heart full of kindness and was known for her unwavering support of animal welfare organizations such as PETA and the ASPCA. Her fiery personality complemented her generous nature; she was always the first to offer a compliment, lifting the spirits of those around her. At the end of the day, no matter how busy life became, she remained a steadfast presence for her friends and loved ones, ever-trustworthy and eager to listen.

Robby’s zest for life extended beyond her career; she basked in the beauty of the mountains and the ocean, always cherishing time spent in nature. Her love of culture and appreciation for the arts shone through her various interests, particularly her passion for the UK and her favorite show, "Absolutely Fabulous." Robby was also a reiki master, proud of the knowledge and skills she had developed, and an aspiring actress who took acting classes with hopes of bringing vibrant characters to life. She adored leopard-print and forest green, and her apartment and wardrobe reflected this. Music was another of her great loves, whether playing guitar or simply enjoying the sounds that resonated with her soul. She especially loved Janis Joplin, The Rolling Stones, and The Beatles. Justin took her to a show about Janis Joplin's life twice due to how much she loved it the first time. She loved old Hollywood actresses. Her dream was to have a small place in the country where she could be among animals and grow her own herbs.

Memories of Robby will forever be etched in the hearts of her loved ones, especially her cherished moments spent with Justin, including going to concerts and shows and visiting Woodstock together. Her quirky taste led her to have a particular fondness for the scent of patchouli and an enduring interest in astrology. Always ready to take charge and do things her own way, Robby displayed a remarkable strength of character, steadfast in her beliefs and values.

Robby is survived by her family member, Justin Famolari, and her beloved dog, Timmy. She is preceded in death by her father, Sol; her mother, Blanche; her uncle, Ralph; and her aunt, Evie.

Though her time was far too short, Robin Lynn Melnick made a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to share in her journey. Her spirit lives on in the laughter she inspired, the kindness she shared, and the memories she created. She will be profoundly missed yet fondly remembered, as her legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty endures in the hearts of all who knew her.
