Ronald Gene Roberts

Ronald G. Roberts, born November 18th, 1939, from Dyersburg, TN walked into the hands of the Lord on Saturday, April 12th, 2025, at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN.

He loved the Lord with all his heart. Besides being a kind and loving man, Ron was a Bishop at his church, The Church of Jesus Christ, with Pastor Pete Putman in Dyersburg, TN.

Ron loved the outdoors. He owned his own business (Ron's Tree Service) for many years. He could tell you anything and everything about any type of tree. If he wasn't working, you could find him either fishing or tending to his beautiful garden.

Music was one of his passions in life that he shared with family & friends it didn't matter if it was Christian, Gospel, or Country music; put a guitar in his hands, and he would play.

We all have those wonderful fond memories of his annual fish fries. "Come hungry and bring your guitar" was the only requirement.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents Eugene & Gloria (nee Taylor) Roberts; his sons Rodney G. Roberts and David W. Petty; and grandchildren Amy L. Roberts and Johnathon W. Freeman.

Surviving is his beautiful wife of 42 years, Patsy Roberts of Dyersburg, TN; children Laurie (Sam) Simmonds of Carthage, MO, Patricia C. Roberts of Belleville, IL, Angela Lattimer of Dyersburg, TN, Cynthia (George) Fraley of Couch, MO; daughter in law Ellen D. Roberts of New Baden, IL; brother Terry (Betty) Roberts of Arnold, MO; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces & nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time in Dyersburg, TN.
