Sara Eckert

Mrs. Sara Wright Baker Eckert, 93 of Brentwood, TN, passed away suddenly on October 6, 2021. A native of Winchester, TN, Mrs. Eckert was the daughter of the late Willard and Tommie Wright Baker. She was preceded in death by her husband: George Eckert; and daughter: Sharon Beth Eckert .

Sara and George shared a wonderful love story, having met in Winchester in elementary school, and marrying as teenagers. Many happy years were spent raising their two children, cultivating lifelong friendships, and devoting time to their family, especially their two precious granddaughters. They were avid fans of the Arkansas Razorback football team, where George served as co-captain of the team in 1951. Sara loved all of the dear ladies in her Bunko group and enjoyed playing with them for over 35 years.

She is survived by her son: Michael (Terri); granddaughters: Laura Williams Toney (Bryan) and Lee Anne Williams Bellamy (Derrick); great-grandchildren: Amanda and Breanna Toney, Mason, Luke and Keegan Bellamy; step-grandson: Chris Dorsett (Kellie); and son-in-law: Jim Dorsett; along with many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 27, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home, 300 1st Ave. N.W., Winchester, TN 37398. Burial to follow after the service at Winchester City Cemetery.
