Sarah Elizabeth Blaker

We are sad to announce the passing of Sarah (“Sally”) Elizabeth Blaker, age 95, who died in Nashville, Tennessee, on August 26, 2023.  She was born and raised in Inglewood, California, and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree at the University of California, Santa Barbara.  While a student there, she met her future husband, William (“Bill”) Blaker.

Sally and Bill married in 1949 and then relocated to Riverside California, where Sally taught elementary school for many years and then worked in the field of teacher education at the University of California, Riverside. 

Sally was active at the Magnolia Presbyterian Church and was a long-time member of PEO.  She loved to play tennis and bridge.  She is survived by daughters Carolyn Thomas (Jeffrey) and Carla Eden (David), and by seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her third daughter, Nancy, and by her husband, Bill.

A memorial service will be held in Riverside, California.  This service will be a private ceremony with only close family and friends present.
