Sylvia Hunt, 73 years of age, passed away on Monday, January 22nd, 2024 in Nashville, Tennessee.
Sylvia was born February 3, 1950, in St. Louis to her loving parents, William and Margaret Lorenz; she was the third of four children, her brother Michael preceding her in death; survived by sisters Shelia (Jerry) and Suzanne (Joe). With a mind for learning, numbers and detail, Sylvia was educated at Lindenwood College now known as Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO earning both her Bachelors and Masters Degrees.
In 1982 Sylvia married the love of her life – Stephen Hunt. This Union led to 41 years of love, life, travel, laughter and faith. This love story started in St. Charles, MO and moved its way to Nashville, TN permanently in 1992. Sylvia cherished being an involved parent and grandparent, traveling to games, loving children she did not birth and allowing anyone that needed to call her “Mom”. A dedicated accountant with an uncanny ability to strategize, organize, stay on track and succeed – Sylvia was admired for her commitment and excellence not only at work but with the St. Charles Jaycee Women, as well as within the community of schools and sports attended by her son in Nashville.
Sylvia loved trivia, reading, deep conversation, the process of finding, collecting and enjoying her Elephant Collection, spending time with her family and beloved friends, playing dominos with Kathy and listening to Ron play guitar, traveling and loved being right. She adored her husband’s cooking, the long, beautiful phone calls with her daughter and somehow managed to admire her son’s every move. Sylvia was a devoted Wife and Mother, the most caring friend, the BEST gift giver and always thought of others first.
Sylvia leaves to cherish her loving memory her Husband, Stephen Hunt, her two children Kimberly (Michael) Brookshier and William (Haley) Hunt, her five Grandchildren, Chase (Sara) Molitor, Lauren (Colton) Hutcheson, Caitlyn (Bradley) Faulkner, Kellan Hunt and Rocket Carter, 11 Great-Grandchildren with one due to arrive July of 2024 and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, sister-in-law to Tom (Kathy), Alicia (Yale) and Mary (David).
To say Sylvia will be “Missed” is an absolute understatement – The positive that we have to hold on to is that out of anyone, we know Sylvia will never leave us alone and will always be watching and cheering us on from the Heavens.
Celebrations of life will be held in Nashville, TN and St. Charles, MO at a later date.
