Tarah Michelle Landes, 43, of Smyrna, TN went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, March 26, 2021. She was born on March 28, 1977, in Dayton, OH, the daughter of James and Caroline (Bragg) Buchanan.Tarah is survived by her soul mate and loving husband Jake, four precious children: Savannah, Gavin, Maliyah, and Sierra, her brother Todd Buchanan and wife Heather of Boise, ID, brothers-in-law Gabe and Matt and their wives, 4 nieces and 4 nephews. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Walter and Thelma Buchanan and her maternal grandparents Carl and Geneva Bragg.Tarah received her nursing degree at Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, Texas in 2000. Shortly after graduating she moved to Nashville, TN where she worked as a registered nurse at Vanderbilt Medical Center for the next 17 years. Her passion in nursing became the oncology patients, where much time was spent caring for and, more importantly, getting to know and praying with her patients. As a nurse she ministered not only to her patients physical needs but sought to minister to their spiritual needs as well. Her joyful and compassionate spirit led patients to inquire about her faith. It was in her first year in Nashville, at a mutual friend's wedding, that she came across her future husband, and love of her life, Jake. They both knew this friendship was destined to last a lifetime. They married on June 22, 2003, and began raising a family to honor and worship God "til death do we part." Their vows stood strong until God called her home.Tarah's greatest love was for Jesus. Her heart was to bring as many people to Christ as she could. She engaged in ministry as often as she could, including college summers with Christian Cheerleaders of America, a mission trip to Honduras, and being an advocate for Compassion International. She served diligently in her church, as well as led and attended church home groups. She and Jake envisioned a ministry of helping the discouraged, the lost, the hurt, and it is apparent she has impacted innumerable people along the way.She also loved her husband, children, and family immensely, and devoted herself to them. She was driven to serve them in so many ways, and she did it well. She home schooled her children among all the other demands and enjoyed every moment with her husband and kids–dates with each of them, hiking through streams and waterfalls, just being in the mountains, playing family games, and being around friends. Family dance fests in the living room was one of her favorite times. Everyone sensed the love of Jesus in Tarah and were drawn into her circle. She will be missed more than can be expressed, but we have confidence that her place is now in heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ. Her family will gather with friends to visit on Friday, April 2 at Experience Community Church from 11:00 AM – until 1:00 PM. A service celebrating Tarah’s life will begin at 1:00 PM.Experience Community Church, 521 Old Salem Rd, Murfreesboro, TN 37129Blessed Be The Name of the Lord, Amen
