Theodore (Ted) A. Taylor, III, age 92, passed away on February 14, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife, Bertha W. Taylor. They were married for 70 years. He is also survived by son, Dr. Gary E. Taylor ( Misty ), daughters, Marcia A. Scott (Bill ), and Deborah A. Taylor; six grandchildren: Stephen Taylor ( Katherine ), Jonathan Taylor ( Christine ), Nicholas Taylor ( Jessica ), Dr. Jason Scott ( Kimberly ), Kimily Jones ( Jason ), and Justin Scott. Great-grandchildren: Win Taylor, Waylon Taylor, Olivia Taylor, Landon Everett, Jake Everett, Emily Scott, Madeleine Scott, Lilly Scott, Beckett Scott, Mallory Jones, and Adalee Jones; sister, Marjorie Keeler, and numerous nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by sister, Alice Acker. Ted was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He treasured his time with family and friends.Ted was born in White Plains, New York. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry from State University of New York. He was a Scout Executive for the Boy Scouts of America for 38 years. He was a member of the Rotary International for 23 years. He was a devout Christian man, served on the Vestry of the Episcopal Church in several different cities, and was a Veteran of WWII with the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a staff sergeant in the 13th AirForce, awarded the Air Medal with 2 bronze stars, Phillipine Liberation Ribbon, and AP Theater Medal with 6 bronze stars.A Celebration of Life will be held on March 2, 2018 at Hermitage United Methodist Church, 205 Belinda Drive, Hermitage, Tn. Visitation with family and friends at 11am. Service will be at 12noon, with Pastor Chris Siefert officiating. Burial service at 2pm, with military honors at Nashville National Cemetery, 1420 Gallatin Pike S.
