Thurston Sebastian Rucker was born on March 14, 1967 and he departed this earthly life on January 29, 2025. Thurston was full of spirit, humor and curiosity. He enjoyed cooking and eating good food as he felt that meals shared at the table bought family and friends closer. He received his education in Metro Nashville public schools and he attended John Overton High School. Thurston accepted Christ at an early age and he was a member of Lake Providence Missionary Baptist Church. Later Thurston received his degree in Business from Aquinas Junior College, an important milestone and proud accomplishment for him. Thurston was known as a skilled insurance agent and he advised many clients on a variety of issues until his health declined.
Thurston is preceded in death by grandparents, James (Georgia) Rucker, Gene (Collie) McKinley and step grandfather, Wiley Hancock; father, Rev. Thomas G. Rucker Sr., nephews Anthony and Jeff Rucker.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his beloved mother Flora Mae Rucker, brothers Thomas (Ruby) G. Rucker, Jr., Randal Rucker, David M. Rucker; niece Keisha (Lonnie) Edwards; great nieces, Kallahari and Asali Edwards, Danielle Rucker, Shanna (Denzel) Blount, devoted friend Tanja VanHeyningen and a host of other family members and friends near and far.
