Vernon A. Wilson, age 78 of Goodlettsville, passed away May 19, 2021 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. Vernon was born on September 8, 1942 in Goodlettsville to Willie Arden Wilson and Susie Florence Wilson. He was a wrecker driver by trade, but his true passion was his love for his granddaughter Layla and his dog, Blackie. He was loved by many people and was a hard worker at Swifty's / Vannatta's. His favorite sports were Steeler's football and wresting. Vernon was a man of many words. He was often heard saying, "They're nothing but a bunch of fruit-loops" or "They're a bunch of quacks."
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Willie Wilson, Jr. and is survived by a daughter: Nikki Staggs; granddaughter: Layla Staggs; sister: Juanita Hughes; brother: Richard Wilson; and a step daughter: Mattie Edwards.
Vernon will be missed by many and his memory will be carried in the hearts of all who knew him.
