Wanda Tignor May died March 30, 2015 after a six-month struggle with cancer. Ms. May was a 1964 graduate of Glencliff High School and later earned her doctorate from Ohio State University. She taught in public schools in Nashville, as well as teaching education at several universities before retiring from Michigan State University. Besides being a gifted teacher, she was also a talented musician who enjoyed playing the piano and many other instruments. She was a skilled artist in almost any medium - oils, pastels, watercolor, etching, and pottery. She enjoyed learning new techniques of expression. She traveled the world with her late husband, friends, and colleagues, both as a tourist and a teacher.She was preceded in death by her mother, Fannie M. Tignor, and her husband, Dr. Harry S. May.She is survived by her father, James B. Tignor; brother, Tom Tignor; sister, Tracie Tignor Brown; two nieces, two nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews.There will be no public services, but tax exempt donations in her honor can be made to Nashville Singers, 3432 Harborwood Circle, Nashville, TN 37214 or
