William Haskins

William Eugene Haskins, 68, died in Nashville, TN on Saturday Jan. 30, 2016. He was nicknamed "Doc" by his friends, "Bill" by his family, and "Daddy-O" by his daughter Rosemary. He was born in Muncie, IN on Nov. 7, 1947 to Rosa and Lawrence Haskins. Bill was the youngest of 7 children and his parents and siblings preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughter Rosemary Haskins from his prior marriage to his best friend Sonya Haskins. He is also survived by two children, William "Bill" Haskins Jr. and Jackie Haskins from his first marriage, along with grandchildren.
Bill retired from the Army as a Chief Warrant Officer 2, served in Vietnam, and earned numerous medals and decorations for his military service. Doc was a friend to many and offered help to anyone in need, including a stray cat that he fed daily. Daddy-O had a love for music that he shared with his daughter, Rosemary, which inspired her to pursue her love of music.
Bill, Doc, Daddy-O was called home too soon, and will be dearly missed by his friends and family who look forward to seeing him again in heaven.
A Memorial service will be held at 1:00pm Friday February 26, 2016 at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery (7931 McCory Ln. Nashville, TN. 37221) with full military honors.
