William Sanders

September 7, 1957 — July 5, 2018

William Allen (AL) Sanders of Smyrna TN passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Alive Hospice Murfreesboro, TN. He leaves behind his wife of thirty years, Jackie L. Sanders, and three brothers Nick, David and Jeff Sanders of Smyrna,TN and numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. He will be joining his late family in Paradise which includes his parents Johnny and Shirley Sanders, his two sisters Sherry Pentecoste and Peggy Benson, and brother Phillip Sanders all of Smyrna, TN along with his beloved Grandmother Hazel Smith of Abingdon, VA.If it’s true that “Laughter is the best medicine” then Al was a medicine man. He woke up in the morning with a joke and filled most every day with laughter and joy to every person he would meet. He loved people and had a lot of friends who loved to laugh with him. Even at the worst of times Al would find some humor in the situation which always made tragedy manageable. He was truly a blessing to have in our lives. He worked for Albert Richen Plumbing of Smyrna, TN for approximately 20 years and retired early due to complications with cancer. He worked hard and played hard. He loved Nascar, golf, camping, and his dogs Roxie and Foxie. We would like to give special thanks to Dr. Peter Cobb, Reeves-Sain (Lauren, Kristin & Bill), Lindsey Castle RD-LON, and the staff at Alive Hospice – Murfreesboro. The Celebration of Life will be held at the Smyrna Downtown Train Depot on Thursday, July 12, 2018 with visitation between 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM.In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
