Willis Henry Patton was born on January 25, 1929 in Arrington, Tennessee to Joe Henry and Fannie D. Patton, who preceded him in death along with his wife Hattie Mai Holt Patton and departed this earthly life on March 6, 2022 at his residence. He was also preceded in death by his two brothers John H Patton, Sr and Jimmie Patton, Sr, Mother-in-law Almeda Pope, Clara Ferrell Sister-in-law and brother-in-law Charles Holt.
He attended Patton Chapel School in Arrington and Pearl High School in Nashville, Tennessee.
He was employed by Coke-Cola for over 20 years along with Nero’s Restaurant as a Chef until it closed then he worked at Brentwood County Club and later at Vanderbilt Medical Center North in Nutrition Service until he retired in 2007. He was a great Chef and loved to cook. He was known for his laughter and joke.
He has been one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for many years and pioneered until his health and age failed and he was no longer able to continue. During his many years of serving Jehovah he attended several congregations; North West Congregation, Melrose and Priest Lake/Antioch Congregation.
He married Hattie Mai Holt and to this union 9 children were born Helen (John) Walker, Jimmie (Lana) Patton, Brenda (Clinton) Jones, Marion (Alton) Lavender, Rita McGee, Sharon (Ron) Hedrick, Beverly (Roy, Sr) Goldthreate, Vickie Patton, and Michael (Darlenia) Patton. He has 26 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He leaves a sister-in-law Frances Patton along with 3 nephews and 1 niece along with a host of family and friends.
His remains have been entrusted to Nashville Funeral and Cremation in Nashville, Tennessee and will be buried in the family cemetery to be held privately.
