Yvonne Mayes

Beverly Yvonne Mayes was born January 12, 1964 to Bessie Lee Floyd and Charles Floyd. She departed this life on February 20, 2015 at Signature Healthcare in Cookeville, Tennessee.She was educated in the Rutherford County School System and professed hope in Christ at an early age at Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church. Yvonne, as she was called enjoyed life, family and friends.She was preceded in death by her mother Bessie Lee Floyd; and brothers, Edward and Harry Floyd.Beverly was married to Richard Mayes and to this union 5 children were born. She leaves to cherish her loving memories daughters: Lavonia (Ryan) Sullivan, Cookeville, TN, Jalessa Mayes, College Grove, TN and Destiny Mayes of Cookeville, TN; sons: Richard (Samantha) Floyd, Bell Buckle, TN and James Floyd, Smyrna, TN; sisters: Ruby Mays, Murfreesboro, TN, Carolyn Gray, Antioch, TN, Bertha and Rhonda Floyd, Nashville, TN, and Serina Floyd, Carterville, GA; brothers:Anthony Floyd, Murfreesboro, TN, Clinton (Tisha) Floyd, Cookeville, TN, Charles Ogelsby, Nashville, TN, Charles (Shirley) Covington, College Grove, John Floyd, Memphis TN, and Clarence Floyd, Carterville, GA; 5 grandchildren: Queon Floyd, La'Terryan Sullivan, Lanise Harden, Myles and Savannah Floyd.A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends, and a devoted family friend Lucille Southall.A Homegoing Celebration Service for Yvonne will be conducted Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the Green Grove Primitive Baptist Church, 7816 Nolensville Rd, Nolensville, TN at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.Yvonne will be laid to rest immediately after in the Locust Ridge Cemetery in College Grove.Condolences may be made at this website.
