After completing his degree in Mortuary Science at John A. Gupton College in Nashville, Scott completed his Funeral Director and Embalmer apprenticeship at a local funeral home and cemetery in Nashville.  Previously he has worked as a Pediatric Cardiac Perfusion Assistant at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital for six years and as a supervisor for the organ and tissue recovery team in Ohio and Tennessee for nine years.  When asked what attracted him to funeral service, he said: “My grandfather passed away when I was young and I had a lot of questions about what the next steps were and when I was going to see him again.  Our local funeral home was owned and operated by a family friend who helped me to understand the next steps my family needed to take.  It was then that I realized that I wanted to be a part of funeral service and help families like mine during one of the most difficult times in their life.  Each family that I am able to serve gives me the greatest sense of pride knowing that I have done everything that I can to ease the pain of when a loved one is lost.”

Outside of work, Scott enjoys making improvements around his home, spending time with his dogs and going to the lake.

Cate graduated from Dallas Institute of Funeral Service with an Associate’s degree in Mortuary Science. She came to work at Nashville Funeral and Cremation shortly after to apprentice under location manager Scott Keel. Cate loves what she does and strives to make sure that the grieving process is made as smooth as possible when she is assisting a family.

When she is not at the funeral home, Cate goes to cosplay conventions, plays tabletop roleplaying games with her friends, and spends time with her partner, Mark.

I have an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from Austin Peay State University. I have previously worked at a Chiropractic Office helping people on their journey to become as healthy as they can for 3 years. I moved to the Funeral Service Industry to continue to help people just in a different way. Ever since I was little I knew I wanted to help people in some sort of way and I believe I found my calling by helping in the most fragile state. Being someone to help make the process a little less stressful, reassuring them that they will have someone there every step of the way.

When off work I enjoy photography, being outside, dancing, traveling and spending as much time with my family as I can.

After graduating from Nashville State formally known as Nashville Tech, I accepted a job at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation Center as a cemetery administrator in April of 1994.  Then in 2018, moved into a Sale position for Advance Planning helping and educating many families.  Since then, I decided on a change of pace and move back into the administrative side as Office Manager here at Nashville Cremation Center and Nashville Funeral and Cremation.

I grew up nearby in Fairview and currently live in Dickson, TN where my husband Donny and I raised his two daughters, Catrina and Selina and our one son, Zachary.  In our free time, we are either on the baseball fields, kayaking, hiking or adventuring our next National Park trip.
